CBR stores comic pages inside a RAR archive. Anyfile decodes supported RAR4/RAR5 entries locally, then orders recognized page images for reading. Unlike CBZ's ZIP path, compressed RAR comics are extracted once within a fixed budget before page navigation begins.
Common question
Why does a CBR pause before showing its first page?
RAR content must be decoded before the reader can jump between extracted images. This initial step is separate from image decoding, which remains limited to visible pages and their neighbors.
Can I rename CBR to CBZ to make it open?
No. Changing the suffix does not turn a RAR archive into ZIP. A real conversion requires extracting the page images and creating a new archive in a separate archive tool.
