How Anyfile's TIFF and General Raster Viewer Works

This viewer parses raster headers and decodes supported strips, tiles, pages or pixel runs into the shared image viewport.

Viewing architecture

  1. 1Small format-specific probes identify decodable variants.
  2. 2TIFF decoding uses GeoTIFF while TGA and Netpbm use dedicated parsers.

Main limitations

  • — Unknown TIFF compression can leave pixels unavailable.
  • — Very large rasters are constrained by browser resources.
