Choose a file to view it in your browser. No signup or software installation needed. Your file stays on your device and is never uploaded.
Pause, inspect frames and change animation speed
Choose a local image from Files on your phone or computer. Pause, inspect the previous or next frame, then play to continue. Choose 0.25×–4× speed for slow or fast playback. Zoom, rotate and fit remain available. Controls require frame decoding support for the format; other browsers show a native preview with an explanation.
Download the original AVIF sample
You can also click Samples beside Open folder, then choose a file from the Animation samples folder. These original gradient images were generated by Anyfile for trying the viewer.
What Anyfile can show
- Play/pause, frame-by-frame viewing and 0.25×–4× playback speed when supported
- Frame counts, decoded frame timing and loop information
- Supported AV1-coded primary images
- Browser-supported alpha and image sequences
Limits and conditions
- Frame controls require ImageDecoder support for this format; otherwise native preview is used
- Controlled animation: 128 MiB input, 8192 pixels per edge, 16 Mi pixels per frame and 64 Mi pixels across all frames
- HDR, color management and uncommon item layouts vary by browser
- Unsupported AV1 profiles or very large images may fail
IMPLEMENTATION
Viewers responsible for this format
AVIF stores AV1-coded image items in an ISO Base Media container and can include alpha, sequences and high-bit-depth data. Anyfile uses the current browser's real decoder for the selected file.
Common question
Can I pause and slow down an animated AVIF?
Yes, when your browser supports frame decoding for that AVIF sequence. Pause to inspect individual frames or choose a playback speed from 0.25× to 4×. Unsupported browsers show the native preview and explain the limitation.
Why does AVIF support vary between browsers?
The container can use different AV1 profiles, bit depths and item relationships, and browser decoders do not support every combination.
